FHANA Keuring 2010

On Monday, October 11th, I drove to Pepperell, MA to see the FHANA (Friesian Horse Assocation of North America) Keuring. A keur is basically a breed testing. Each Friesian does an in-hand test with special "runners" from Holland. The two Dutch judges evaluate each horse on their conformation and movement, thus giving them a rating that goes into the foalbook/studbook. I also set up my SandraB. Designs tent and had a spot right beside the arena so I was able to watch the show all day while I promoted my products. It was beautiful weather and I saw some gorgeous horses. My favorite stallion was Vaun B. owned by Charmaine Brown, DVM in Monmouth, ME. The main reason I went to the keur was to see Zeppelin do his testing. Zeppelin is a 3 year old gelding owned by Jody Cabot. I started him under saddle this winter before he went to train for the keur. He looked beautiful and passed with a 3rd premie rating. Here are some photos to look at and a video with clips of the stallions and geldings. [nggallery id=9]
