Red Hills ~ Day One

Today was the first day of the Red Hills Horse Trials held in Tallahassee, FL. Every year this event draws in about 15,000 spectators over the three days. A horse trial consists of three different days of competition. The first day is the dressage portion, the second day is the cross-country and the final day is the show jumping. Today was "dressage day". Because it is a Friday there aren't as many spectators but it was still well attended and I stayed busy at my SandraB. Designs booth. I set up a facepainting station and created some fancy dressage horses, jumpers, and horseheads on kids and adults. I had AMAZING help from Holly Bailey, she is an expert in customer service and handled all my sales during the day so I could focus on painting. I facepainted at Red Hills a few years ago sitting at a tack shop booth. It was very popular and suits the venue because of the family-friendly promotion of this horse event. The city of Tallahassee does an amazing job marketing this show and gives it a lot of media attention. Saturday and Sunday will definitely be busier than today with all the parents and their kids enjoying the beautiful horses. Check it out at:
