Pineland Farms Equestrian Center

I judged at Pineland Farms this past weekend and had the ideal day for a dressage judge. Everything was so well organized, clean, on schedule, friendly, I had a great scribe, and there were many nice horses at each level. Even the lunch was fabulous, fresh sandwiches from the Pineland Market down the road. The farm is part of a larger agricultural program, like a university.  I judged Introductory to Second level and also a First level freestyle. Many scores were in the 70%'s, the quality of horses was exceptionally high with some fantastic warmbloods and a lovely Lusitano stallion. Some of the younger horses were a little nervous coming by the judge's booth but I gave them some mints to help them enjoy the experience. We had a long day, 8-4 and they had a waiting list of riders that were unable to get into the show. Most of the schooling shows I have been judging this year have been short on entries because of the economy and some have even cancelled.  It was great to see a successfully run show that went well for everyone involved.  You can read more about Pineland at their website: http://www.pinelandfarms.org/index.html
